Marin Transcription Services can tailor your transcription to meet your needs.  The following lists the level of detail we can include in your transcription:

HIGH: Transcription of all recorded events--including stutters, false starts, 'ah-hems', coughing, laughter, 'uhs', mispronounced words, etc.  Useful when transcription is being used for video editing purposes.

VERBATIM: The level of content appropriate for most legal uses, meetings, and investigations. All spoken words are transcribed including 'likes', 'you knows', slang, cursing, asides and false starts. Stuttering, repeated phrases, and mispronunciations are not included. Phone ringing, sirens, coughs, and other noises are not included.

CONTENT: The level of content appropriate for some internal communications, public meeting transcriptions, and forums where the continuity of the transcription is of importance. Stammers, asides, 'you knows', and false starts are eliminated. Technical or personal conversation not pertaining to the topic is omitted. Very long sentences may be edited to shorter lengths, 'ands' omitted.  Grammatical errors may be corrected.

Marin Transcription Services will provide your transcript in an appropriate format.  You can provide us with your own legal pleading template, letterhead, or other standardized format.  You may also choose from one of our many templates that best suits your needs.

Most of our clients now utilize our secure online services for both sending their audio recordings and receiving their completed transcripts. In cases where the client wishes a physical pickup and return of audio or video materials we can accommodate this through messenger service within Marin and Sonoma Counties. Likewise, hard copies of all transcripts can be provided if requested.

Marin Transcription Services will provide you with a quote for your transcript based on level of content and difficultly of recording. Turnaround times are generally five days. 

General Transcription Services:  $40 per hour of transcription time. For example, a thirty-minute recording will generally take about two hours to transcribe and would cost $80. There is a one-hour minimum charge on all jobs. 

General Services assumes that the recording is of good quality, the speakers clear, the content not overly technical (not too much jargon, acronyms, or unusual names). 

High Level Transcription Services: $50 per hour of transcription. 

High Level Transcription Services would include recordings of poor quality, speakers who are not clear or speak with a marked accent. Any recordings with excessive simultaneous conversations, excessive technical conversation,  or overly rapid speech will be considered High Level.

RUSH: Three-day turnaround rush fee is $75 per hour of transcription. Overnight rush fee is $100 per hour of transcription.
